A great place to see wildlife is the Highland Wildlife Park. Located only 8 miles south of Aviemore, it is a great day out. If you prefer to explore the National Park yourself and see the wildlife up close or through binoculars, there are a number of local guides who will provide you with a guided service. Highland Wildlife & Birdwatch Safaris offer a range of options for small groups for either shared or exclusive guiding. Speyside wildlife also offer a range of guided days out both in the vicinity of Aviemore and further afield.

If you prefer to just head out yourself, the Cairngorms offer you an exciting day out with an abundance of wildlife and birdlife to see, from an early morning black grouse lek to Osprey diving for trout to the mischievous red squirrel in the pine forests.
